When in doubt, play the race card
If President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder played a game of cards against each other, who do you think would win? It’s actually a trick question because the game would result in a draw. You see, they’d both play the race card and so there would be no winner.
A while back, Obama played the race card to try to justify his plunging approval ratings.
He told the New Yorker magazine that, “There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president.” Please! Stop insulting the American public with that kind of garbage. Ninety-nine percent of the people who disapprove of the way you’re running the country couldn’t care less about your skin color.
Now it’s Holder’s turn. Recently, Holder said that he sees “racial animus” in Republican opposition to some of the Obama administration policies. Back in 2009, he said that America was a “nation of cowards” on the topic of race. He claimed that the Republican view that Americans should have to show an ID to vote is a way to “disenfranchise minority voters.”
And it’s not just Obama and Holder, of course. This is exactly what liberals do when they’ve been backed into a corner and have been out-argued. When they finally come to the realization that a conservative has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he or she is right and the liberal is wrong, the liberal will reach up his sleeve, pull out the race card and claim victory.
As I’ve told you before, a white liberal friend of mine accused a conservative friend of mine of being racist because he did not vote for Obama in 2012.
I replied by saying, “So, if in the next presidential election I vote for Condoleezza Rice and you vote for Hillary Clinton, does that mean you are a racist?” Of course, he had no reply to that. Liberal minds are incapable of any logical argument once they’ve played their race card. That’s when they’re exposed for the jokers that they are.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how sick are you of liberals playing the race card when there’s absolutely no connection to race in the discussion? Let me know what you think.
One of the best lines in this article is, “Liberal minds are incapable of any logical argument…” I’ve said that many times. Liberals do not think, they “feel” so there is no logic to the key liberal talking points. The followers of the lib machine pass along these lib talking points without thinking for themselves, without researching for the truth. It’s easier to be a follower than to be a leader of one’s own thoughts. The race card, the female card, the “poor” immigrants card…they use them all. It’s basically using GUILT to try and move people, imo. That is no longer working.
Losers always try any trick they can to turn attention away from them. That is just what Holder and the obominator are, losers. I believe that the writer of this story is exactly right in his conclusions.
The only thing that Liberals and Democrats are good for is as targets!
I never start out racist, but seems I end up defending my own race when confronted by a bunch of self-proclaimed “non racist” racists
Diversity divides. It’s the politically correct term for segregation. By definition promoting diversity is practicing racism.
The hypocracy continues. There is only one race. We’re all Homo Sapiens.
You hit the nail on the head!
Donald trump is pulling out RACE cards know one is saying anything??? Is that ok???
Mike, check your words. Know is not the same as no. After you’ve mastered 5th grade grammar maybe you could actually tell us where, when & what Trump said.
Awesome reply! I have a BA in English and technical writing; it truly frustrates meto see just how pervasive illiteracy is, among those who place impassioned rants as commentaries, filled with word usage, spelling errors and grammatically incorrect semtences! Hooahh!
Your grammar is awful!
Mike, a bit of advice, ‘Spell Check’ in your computer does not know what it is that you wish to say. It only checks word spelling, and NOT word usage. Try doing more reading and some investigation of proper word use, and spelling. It would be to your advantage.
I will vote for Dr Ben Carson in the upcoming election. Because of his character. Even though my skin color matches Obama’s mother. Am I a racist too?
Maybe or maybe not. One fact is that you don’t know how to construct a comment.
That will be a vote for HillBillary!
Ever since the beginning of time people always placed their own values upon those that are not one of them. I call it the US’ums against the U’ms syndrome. It use to be neighbor against neighbor until the neighborhood changed and people were forced to accept one another. Then the US’ums against the U’ms went this way, town against town, City against City, County against County, State against State, then the Country against Country. Yet, the differences between one person from another still persist. If you ain’t one of US then You must be one of them.
It doesn’t matter what the difference is as long as there is a difference. Blond hair, red hair, straight hair, curly hair, brown eye, blue eyes, tall, short, fat, skinny, black, white, red, yellow, Indian (American Indian), Asian (anyone that has different eyes) Irish, German, African, Jamaican, Cuban, Polish, Serb, American, it can be what they eat, what they don’t eat, it can be how they worship, who they worship, when they worship, why they worship, what language they speak; as along as it is different from the US’uns they will always be a U’ns.
It is funny when you look at someone how a rush of prejudgement attitudes, values and emotions can cloud one’s evaluation or point of view. How big fear plays in our evaluations. I see the biggest, nastiest dog barking and showing his teeth my first instinct is to fear him if he isn’t under controlled. I may be harmed. This dog might bite me if I get to close to him or if he comes after me. What kind of man would I be if I ignore the the obvious? There are circumstances that I should take into consideration. Is the dog doing a particular job like protecting someones property, his territory, his food. Is the dog just plain mean and vicious.
This is how we judge people too. What kind of harm can they do to me. Do they make me uncomfortable, feel threaten in some manner or way. Do they treat me differently from how they treat each other? It is the start of the US’uns against the U’ns.
When people realize that one person is no better or worst than they are, then there is nothing to fear about someone who is different from who or what you are. Perhaps the evaluation of perceived differences will disappear with all the prejudices and racism’s that people have stored over their life time, that of their parent’s and grandparent’s and so on.
I am proud that my country, United States of America, had put behind them the argument that we are a prejudice nation. That we would never put a black man in the White House. I came from the deep south, back in the days of Jim Crow Laws, different establishments for black’s and white’s. Call me what you will, but I never agreed with the sentiment that there was a difference between whites and blacks. My brother and sister and I treated everyone equally; even when they didn’t treat us the same. So when the next time someone pulls out his racist card I’m just going to laugh out loud in their face and ask them what else do they have to justify for their being different. Perhaps the reason people don’t like them is because they just don’t like the way they have behaved.
Look, all we have in this life is each other. If we count on each other to do the right thing then we will never have a problem with each other. But when we decide to treat someone different without just cause then we are setting ourselves up for conflict that can quickly get out of control. Which brings me to the GOLDEN RULE: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Excellent and well stated observation of human behavior, Cliff. One “difference” you omitted in your 2nd paragraph was our love of politically labeling each other as either “liberal” (stupid, ignorant) and/or “conservative” (greedy, heartless). Sadly, this article continues to perpetuate that wedge which prevents us from finding common ground upon which we can build relationships with each other while respecting their deepest beliefs. Your message is one that I’ve repeated many times…get over the differences, especially the visual/auditory ones, and find commonality!! It’s there but we may have to work to find it! Great song lyrics from South Pacific describe this phenomenon perfectly…”You’ve got to be Carefully Taught”….look ’em up and read them!
My sister is one of this type of racist accusers. She was adopted by a black family (we are white) and she thinks that because I don’t like her husband I am a racist. I don’t like him because of the values he has – not because of his skin color.
I think reverse racism is an easy way to slander a person. I worked with a black woman who, when she found out I didn’t agree with her politics accused me of being racist.
You can be a jerk in any color. You can be a saint in any color. Let’s stop assigning traits to color and start assigning them to character. And let’s let people who don’t like us not like us – who cares? I should be free to not like you – or your politics – or your behavior. And you are free to do the same. It’s the concept of force or coercion (call it power) that is behind all this. It seeks to destroy kindness and understanding as well as equality. Equality does not mean same – it means equal while being different. Why can’t we just be people?
We’re not all the same – and that’s good. It would be a truly dull world if we were. Ideas and progress and innovation and creativity would disappear. We wouldn’t have anyone to do all the jobs it takes to make a society because we would all want to do the same things. We would all have the same income, so we wouldn’t have ambition and striving – just “getting along”. That’s not a utopia! It’s not even desirable or alluring. It’s madness. Let’s all agree to be different, okay?
I’M A SISCILAN. WHEN IN HIGH SCHOL IN THE 60’S ALOT OF GUYS CALLED ME A WOP, OR A DAGO. THATS RACIST. I JUST SHRUGGED IT OFF. I KNEW I WAS BORN AMERICAN AND WAS AN AMERICAN. WE HAD BLACKS THAT DID NOT WANT TO BE SEEN WITH THE WHITES. THEN MY BEST FRIEND IN MY SENIOR YEAR WAS BLACK. WE DID NOT CARE ABOUT COLOR. WE PROTESYED FOR CIVIAL RIGHTS AND DESEGRAGTION, THE VIETNAM WAR, WHICH I ENEDED UP GETTING DRAFTED. SINCE OBAMA , I DON’T CARE MUCH FOR BLACKS , OR HISPANICS. I’M HALF SPANARD.MY MOM WAS BORN IN MEXICO.
Is he saying that we are discriminating against by minority gun purchasers when we require identification at a gun dealer?
THATS THE WAY I FELT!
I voted for Alan Keyes in ’00 and ’04 , so that race bs ain’t gonna work on me.
Honestly, I’m sick of the race card, politically correctness, the minority card, the gender card, the “check your privilege” card – I’m fed up with it all.
I’ve worked my tail off to be where I am today and have the ability to provide for my family. It had nothing to do with being a white Christian male either. Nobody handed me anything. I lost many opportunities to “minorities” who were less qualified that I.
Truth is that as a white Christian man I’ve had to perform better, work harder and educate myself further than the other guy/girl all my life.
If I complain, I’m told to “check my privilege” by minority races, or to suck it up and grow a pair by the opposite gender.
I’ve lived my life “color-blind” to race. And, I’ve always lifted up the other guy/girl regardless of their so-called minority status.
I’m sick of being stepped on. I’m sick of all the reverse-racism.
There is no such thing as reverse racism its just plain racism no matter whom is hating whom. In fact reverse racism would be loving someone because of their race instead of hating them, if it was a real term. So please stop using this term its made up and looks ignorant when you do.
I PITTY THIS FOOL. MR. T!
I think Obama/Barry is playing out his inner conflict of White vs Black vs Muslim, The Black Barry is racist against his White mother. The White Barry rarely shows his face. The Muslim Obama was taught to destroy anyone not like him. There’s enough hate within this human to foster his Muslim belief system. Unfortunately, his goals are not the same as We, The People of this country.
I firmly believe that every time leftists like Obama and Holder play the race card, a few more Americans wake up to its meaninglessness. When you only have one or two plays in your book (“Its all Bush’s fault” is another) it becomes readily apparent that you haven’t got much of a game. Obama’s falling popularity ratings indicate that this is happening.
It’s very curious to me that blacks can have a TV show called “Blackish”… their own Network called “Black EnterTainment”… their own “MONTH” of history… their own Holiday to worship a Black Activist… are able to openly praise a known terrorist and call for action based on his findings… are able to repeatedly claim that they are not racists just for wanting a white man to burn because he shot and killed an unarmed black boy while he was perpetuating a crime… I could go on and on and we have a President and an Attorney General who perpetuate the situation. When a President makes a statement that a young black man who was shot and killed when he tried to beat a Hispanic man “would be just like his son”… and an Attorney General only imposes investigations when it pertains to the shooting of a black thug… we have a problem. If a white man pulled this kind of crap… the black community would be outraged and go on a killing spree, looting and destroying everything in their path just as they have in Furgeson. I was raised in a time when we were all Americans… not black Americans, not White Americans, not this or that… just plain Americans!!! I know of a country who would welcome each and every one of them with open arms… of course, they would have to lower their standards by a lot and not be on a state welfare program… because Africa doesn’t have that available to people who sit just will not work! Yep! I’m fed up and I’m speaking out… call me racist… call me whatever you want. I work for a living, I have earned everything I have and I do not expect anyone to do anything for me! Thus the difference in someone who works for the American Dream versus those who simply want it put in their lazy lap! Yep, call me a racist… but it’s not me who is going out and killing my own race because I don’t want to work and would rather steal from someone who will work… Yep, call me a racist but I’m not home having babies just to get more out of the system. And, I think Obama just can’t make up his mind whether he’s black or muslim… either way… he’s on the wrong track and yes, ISIS certainly IS Islamic and they DO want to kill Americans. Sure, You can keep your doctor and you can keep your plan… If he’s not a liar we need to redefine the terms of “LIAR”
Ron, It really makes me sad and a shame that people, like you, really believe in what you are saying and feel the way you do. I guess you are part of the US’uns. You slight a person for finally getting their just rewards, Their time in the sunlight that you and people like you were use to be in. Now that you have to share the stage of life you don’t like it. All I can say to you and people like you, ‘TO DAMN BAD!!!” It is people like you Ron that are selfish, stingy, out right mean and ugly. Instead of lending a helping hand you are willing to hold others down. You willing to hold people back if you feel threaten, if you feel that they will get something that you feel that you deserve. You work long, hard for what you have and you don’t ask for anything special. Yet, these people that you are willing to hold back, put down and discriminate against work just as hard if not harder, they work just as long if not longer than you, the only difference between you and them is that they don’t get the same opportunities than you do. They don’t get the same education, same living conditions, the same breaks than you do. These people work at minimum wage jobs most have two or three jobs just to make ends meet. They want the same thing that you have and they are willing to earn it. They have families that have needs and wants just like yours.
You don’t know what it is like not to be something other than white. As a white person you can walk down the street without fear of any kind or type. The police don’t pull up along side you to see why you are in a particular neighborhood or why you are driving an expensive car, or why there are more that three of you in a car. It is what I call the White man’s luxury. As a white man, I can go where I want, do what I like, when I like to do it. (Shaking my head from side to side in disgust) Can I say the same for a black man, an American Indian, brown man, yellow man? How about a Jew, Arab, Asian, African, Hispanic? Can I say the same for them as well? No I can’t. As long as people like you Ron exist willing to bully others if not outright proclaim yourselves as racists this world will always struggle for equality. When people like you Ron die out it is the new generations to correct the errors that you have committed and start to look at people as an extension of themselves, of the human race, and not of something evil or different to be pushed aside and given no voice.
Ron, I would love to see you change your mind as to how you see people and treat them. I would like to suggest that you spend more time in church learning the ways of mankind as it should be.
YOU GO, CLIFF!! Great response. We can only hope that people like Ron will study history a bit and try walking a “mile in their shoes”, if only in his mind. White folks, and I’m one, have absolutely NO idea what it must feel like to NOT be white. It’s the “liberal” heart in me that allows me to attempt to feel empathy for others and learn the reasons for their life’s circumstances, and the “conservative” in me that prevents me from wanting to save them, and the world, by forcing my beliefs on others based on my own life’s circumstances rather than trying to work together for a better one.
Cliff A. –
i hope I misinterpreted your meaning – because it seems you start with a false premise – you said, “You slight a person for finally getting their just rewards, . ” when Ron’s point seemed, to me, to be that some feel they are ‘entitled’ to what the rest of us expect to work for. That is not my definition of ‘just rewards’. My definition of ‘just reward’ is that you get what you’ve ‘earned’ – not what you feel you are owed for some mistreatment some ancestor may have received a hundred years ago.
Your ‘White guilt’ (if you’re white?) appears to be overriding your common sense.
Cliff, It really makes me sad and a shame that people, like you, really believe in what you are saying and feel the way you do. As a White person, have you ever walked through a Black or Hispanic neighborhood and Not been afraid? Get real!
Correction “ashamed”. Not “a shame” as you so put it.
Why are only whites called racists. When I was a young girl of 12,I was called white trash because I attempted to help a black child coming down a slide too fast .He would have injured himself on the concrete slab at the bottom.I cried and 72 years later I still remember the incident.
Uhmmmm, let’s see, we weren’t racists when we voted him in as president. but we are racist when we don’t like his policies. Can’t have it both ways Obama. And I like how you play the race card everyday, only claiming half your heritage. You like the victimhood of being black and don’t want to claim your white have otherwise you would be proclaiming your mixed race heritage on a daily basis.
I said in 2008 it would be generations of damage Obama and his administration would do. Liars and cowards all and if that makes me a racist then a racist I be.
I’m at 15 on a scale of 1-10. Charges of racism and other typical slanderous remarks need to met with strong responses from the opposition that really holds accuser accountable for their assertions like “I know you are but what am I”.
Wait, that is what we are doing on the right. Why is that not working?
Tired of it is not the word. I would use the word infuriated that these are the people we have let take control of our country.
