No Charges Against IRS for Targeting Conservatives

Have you ever attended a sports event where the referees or umpires are blatantly making sure that one of the two teams wins?

This doesn’t happen so much at the professional and college levels because there are too many people watching top get away with it. But we sometimes see it at the high school and community sports levels.

It’s very frustrating because even if the team you are rooting for is more talented, you don’t have much of a chance to win if all the calls are going against you.

And that’s pretty much the way it’s been for many Republicans and some Independents during the Obama Administration years. One liberal Obama agency covers up for the sins of another on a regular basis, leaving conservatives hanging out to dry.

A great example is the Department of Justice, which in October 2015 declared that the IRS is innocent of any wrongdoing in connection with its targeting of conservatives for extra scrutiny when it came to applications for tax-exempt status.

You may recall that IRS official Lois Lerner first denied the allegations, then lied about it until the evidence against the agency became overwhelming. The IRS finally apologized for it, vowing to right the wrong.

In fact, the agency said it would take “significant actions” to stop its agents from targeting political groups based on their names and policy positions. The IRS inspector general even said that the agency had eliminated unnecessary and intrusive questions and had cleared a backlog of applications that had languished for months and years.

Despite all that, Obama went on national television and declared that there was not a “smidgeon” of evidence of corruption in the IRS. Taking their lead from the president and his not-so-subtle direction on this issue, the Department of Justice announced that the IRS was innocent.

When the deck is stacked against you like that, there’s not much you can do. But one thing you can do is to get angry about it and vote into office people who will be unbiased.
