4Patriots pledges regular, sustaining donations to Fisher House Foundation
For years now, 4Patriots has been making charitable donations to organizations that support current U.S. military personnel and veterans.
Among the organizations that benefit when our company makes donations based on a percentage of your purchases are Operation Homefront, which aids military families during difficult financial times, and A Soldier’s Child Foundation, which provides meaningful birthday gifts to the children of fallen U.S. military members.
Now we’re committing to make regular, sustaining donations to the Fisher House Foundation (www.fisherhouse.org).
This organization operates 69 homes across the country where families of active duty soldiers and veterans alike can stay at no cost while their loved ones are receiving medical treatment. Fisher House is ranked A+ by Charity watch and 96.9 out of 100 by Charity Navigator. Over 92 percent of donations go directly to the veterans programs themselves. To date, more than 320,000 veterans families have benefitted from this program.
Fisher House provides a wonderful service by giving the families of these injured and ill soldiers and veterans a free place to stay near where their loved ones are being treated. This saves them considerable amounts of money and allows them to be near their family members when they are most needed.
The No. 1 reason we are able to make these types of donations is because of your purchases of our products. When you buy emergency food, generators, water purification systems, heirloom seed vaults and other items from us, that enables us to help organizations that aid U.S. military members and their families.
As some of you know, previously we were making regular donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, which has done many good things for our vets over the years. But it came to our attention recently that the organization was wasting money on lavish parties and other frivolous things. So, we discontinued our donations to them. We hope for the sake of the soldiers that they restructure and make some big changes in the way they handle donations.
Rest assured, our commitment to U.S. servicemen and women, and to other needy Americans, will continue. Thank you for being part of the 4Patriots family. People in need thank you as well.
Works for me Frank. It seems we see eye to eye once again. As a vet myself I can tell you how much it is appreciated to stay some where that is friendly and understanding of personal needs and feelings. Not everybody can look you in the eye and say that I support you and I’m here to help without making it seem that you are accepting charity. No one like to be placed on display as a dog and pony show just because you’re a veteran.
Veteran’s are proud men and women that served this country. We are not accustom to asking for a hand out. But, we do appreciate a hand up; for that we thank you one and all. The Fisher House understands that in time of need a veteran and their family can always find a place to stay while taking care of personal needs injunction with a veteran’s military business.
Frank, heart-felt THANKS for what you and your
organizations due for service personel. It is a sad
state of affairs when other organization. advertise
what they do; however, when checked it seems most of the monies go to operations and the top officers of same.
Dear Frank,
After advising you of the problems we discovered with WWP we are thrilled you did the extra work to find a more meaningful support group.
Please change the inscription on new printings of our book; SURVIVAL 101 – HOW TO BUG OUT AND SURVIVE THE FIRST 72 HOURS, to reflect that the tithe for buying our book from you and us, will be going to the FISHER HOUSE PROJECT.
May God bless our brave soldiers and their struggling families. We owe them all … man, woman and child so much for their sacrifices to keep us free!
Your Friend,
Orrin
When our son passed away in Afghanistan. in March 2011, we stayed at the (new) Fisher House at Dover Air Force Base when he was returned stateside. It was a blessing to stay with others in a similar situation and around supportive people who truly wanted to help in whatever way they could.
