Introducing the real land of the free and home of the brave!

I hear it every day from at least one patriot – “If only our country were the way it used to be.” As the United States keeps getting farther and farther away from what our Founding Fathers envisioned, we’re saddened by the loss and disillusioned about the future. We see government expanding its powers everyday, privacy dwindling rapidly and individual rights being continuously threatened. Perhaps worst of all, we see a society that is becoming filled with people who have entitlement issues. Thomas Jefferson is probably rolling over in his grave right now!

No, our nation will probably never be what it once was. But there are some people who are in the process of trying to carve out a small chunk of the country for a planned community where residents are bound together by patriotism, pride in American exceptionalism and liberty, and a belief in the importance of preparedness. It’s called the Citadel, and the plan is to build a community of 3,500 to 7,000 patriotic American families living on 2,000 to 3,000 acres in the mountains of northwest Idaho. Apparently 200 families have already reserved space.

Below is a link to the Citadel’s website, where you can find out more about this revolutionary community which will be protected by walls and towers, where they are planning to have school education instead of indoctrination, and where Marxists, socialists, liberals and establishment Republicans may find it incompatible with their ideology and preferred lifestyles.

How would you like to live in a community such as the one described on the Citadel’s website? What advantages and disadvantages come to mind? If this type of community proved to be successful, do you think it would have any effect on the overall country?
I’ll be watching this group of folks to see if they are able to actually make this idea a reality.
