How to Set Up Your Patriot Power Generator 1500

Simple Steps Toward Peace of Mind

Congratulations on acquiring your Patriot Power Generator 1500. You will be able to rest easy now, knowing you have a way to restore power for electrical items during a blackout.

Your emergency generator can produce up to 3,000 peak watts of power and comes with an integrated 1,500-watt inverter / 600Wh lithium-iron battery; a 100-watt, commercial grade folding solar panel; and a 25-foot long extension cord.

Your first order of business is setting up your portable generator. Here are the easy-to-follow steps to accomplish that:

  1. Remove your emergency generator from its box.
  2. Remove the AC power cord and a key from the pouch attached to the generator.
  3. In the back of the generator, insert your key and turn it to the “On” position.
  4. The screen on the front of the generator is now on. Before you start powering any electronic appliances, flip the switch on the front of the generator by the inverter. You will then hear a beep, which means it’s ready to charge.

Your solar generator will come 95 percent charged. When you are ready to recharge it, first make sure the key is in the “On” position. Now you have two charging options:

  1. You can plug your AC power cord into an electrical outlet and insert the other end of the cord into the AC input slot. Or…
  2. You can plug the longer solar panel cord into the DC input slot.

Actually, you can do both at the same time if you want to. If your generator was completely drained when you started charging it, it will take about 3½ hours to completely charge it.

You don’t have to worry about over-charging your generator. The unit will remain on, but it will stop itself from charging once the generator is fully charged again. So, no damage will occur to your generator from “over-charging.”

The German-engineered solar panel is both portable and durable. It has legs so that you can set it up at any angle to the sun. The solar cells have a 20-year life.

Now you’re ready to go!
