Puerto Rico Still Reeling from Maria… but Harvey Couldn’t Chase Keith Out

There’s pretty much no other way to put it. Hurricane Maria was the worst natural disaster in Puerto Rico. Ever.

In fact, the Category 5 hurricane was the most intense tropical cyclone in the world in 2017. And it was the deadliest storm during a vicious Atlantic hurricane season.

The official death toll in Puerto was 64, but the actual number is probably much higher. The New York Times estimated it at more than 1,000.

And many who were not killed or injured were left homeless by the damage caused by the storm.

But the single biggest problem facing Puerto Rico is still the lack of power.

The blackout caused by Maria is now the largest in US history. To this day, some Puerto Ricans still do not have power… five months later!

Can you imagine going five months without power? Total losses from the hurricane in Puerto Rico have been estimated at more than $50 billion.

Puerto Ricans Finding Gas Generators Can Create Problems

Many Puerto Ricans turned to gas generators for electricity after Hurricane Maria wiped out the islands electricity.

However, shortly after, residents lucky enough to secure generators for their families ran into multiple issues they had not anticipated.

Many found the generator to be worthless, to a certain extent, because very few gas stations were open. And gas would run out quickly at the ones that were. This is because people were using their cars to get A/C and to charge their phones. Residents also reported fear of using the generator because the noise would draw attention and the risk of it being stolen was high. Solar Generator Brings Peace of Mind to 4Patriots Customer

Here in the U.S., many folks in southeastern Texas had already experienced a violent storm that caused massive amounts of damage before Maria struck Puerto Rico.

Among those who were able to cope well during Hurricane Harvey was Keith of Driscoll, Texas. Why? Because he was prepared.

Keith and his wife had the choice to evacuate. But because they owned the Alexapure Pro water filtration system and the Patriot Power Generator 1500, they decided to hunker down. With these preparations, they felt confident they could weather the storm.

“We’ve seen evacuations before, and it’s not good on the highway,” Keith said. “Instead, we boarded up all the windows and had our water ready to go.

“If you’re not prepared to sit at your house and take care of yourself, then there’s nobody who’s going to take care of you. You’re on your own.

“You want to go live in a football stadium with cots and sleeping bags on the floor for a month? Well, no thank you.”

Keith and his wife were glad they had a way to produce clean water when Harvey rolled in and decided to stick around. Having a solar generator also helped their peace of mind.

“I set my Patriot Power Generator out and we were ready for whatever hit and whatever happened,” he said. “It sounded like a train out there for 12 or 14 hours.

“The wind took everything out. All the glass was blown out of every building for hundreds of miles. Everybody lost power.

“Nobody was getting any of their groceries. Nothing was available for a week or more.”

Keith’s Recommendation: Be Prepared

“People were standing in line for hours for water,” Keith continued. “There was no fuel, there were no grocery stores open.

“The power was out, but I just plugged everything into my Patriot Power Generator. Plugged the TV in, and we had coffee. We were just living a normal life. Everything was normal.”

Keith was eager to share advice with others after his experience.

“Be prepared to be self-reliant,” he said. “And have water and have food. I could hunker down here and live here for six months and not ever have to leave. I feel self-reliant. I don’t have to rely on anybody.”

Solar Generators are the Smarter Choice

As self-reliant Americans, we know we can’t depend on the government to keep us safe. That’s why many Americans are taking matters into their own hands and are securing their own solar powered generator.

Solar generators are a smart choice because they produce an endless supply of life-saving electricity when you need it most – and without gas, fumes or noise.

Our top recommendation in portable solar generators is the Patriot Power Generator 1500.

It’s a breakthrough device that generates up to 1,500 continuous watts of clean, quiet, and free renewable power.

That’s enough to power lights for safety and comfort, your computer, TV, or cell phone. Even small appliances like a small freezer or critical medical device that will sustain your family during a power outage.

And if you haven’t had a chance to check it out, we’re offering over $800 in free bonus gifts for our President’s Day Special of our incredibly popular Patriot Power Generator. This offer expires on Feb 20th at Midnight Pacific Time. You can get the details, right here.
