Enjoy It By Itself or in a Scooped-Out Acorn Squash
Based on what we’ve learned from our customers, there are many things you can do once you receive your supply of Food4Patriots survival food.
Some people like to immediately store it in a cool, dark place for an emergency. They receive tremendous peace of mind knowing it’s there for a time when they may need it.
Others like to taste it right away to determine how much food they want to reorder.
Some folks use it on a fairly regular basis, as a quick snack or a daily meal. It’s great when you are low on food but are not quite ready to go to the grocery store. It’s also very convenient for when you’re camping.
One of the more popular items in the Food4Patriots family is Traveler’s Stew. Today we’re going to show you how to make it as is, as well as how to add it to an acorn squash.
Here’s what you need to make Traveler’s Stew as is:
1 pouch of Traveler’s Stew
Here are the directions:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pan.
Open the Traveler’s Stew pouch, then remove and throw away the oxygen absorber.
Whisk in the entire contents of the pouch.
Boil 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Simmer on low heat for 12 to 15 minutes.
If you want to make Traveler’s Stew into more of a thick side dish, cook it for an additional 15 minutes.
Now for that acorn squash dish we mentioned:
Chop off the top of an acorn squash and scoop out enough of the insides to form a bowl.
Rub it with a little oil.
Put it on a baking pan.
Bake it in the oven for 45 to 60 minutes at 375 degrees F.
The inside should be soft when you poke it with a fork.
Put the cooked Traveler’s Stew into the acorn squash “bowl.”
Top it with cheese and cranberries.
Jones chimed in with this Food4Patriots review:
“I tried the food and it was delicious. It really gives me a plan if something were to happen. It’s like insurance you hope you don’t have to use, but it’s there if you need it. Enough said.”
Swartz included these comments in a review:
“I was surprised at how much food there was. We made some for dinner and it fed the four of us – two adults and two 4-year-olds. The kids like it and they are picky.”
Eric has this to say about Food4Patriots:
“Food items I’ve tried have been excellent. Packaging and containers seem very durable, long lasting and easy to store.”
