One of the biggest concerns that many Americans had when ObamaCare was first being discussed widely was whether they’d be able to keep their current health plans. President Obama and his people repeatedly assured us that yes, we would be able to keep them. No one would be forced to change their healthcare plan because of ObamaCare.
Let’s see a show of hands from those who believed them. In what is turning out to be another in an endless series of broken promises and lies, millions of Americans are being forced to change their healthcare plans due to ObamaCare. Right now it’s looking like approximately 16 million Americans will find themselves in this position before too long.
Why are insurance companies such as Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Medical Mutual of Ohio and others canceling so many policies? Because they’ve figured out that it will be impossible for them to be profitable if they have to adhere to all of the ObamaCare requirements, including covering more “essential benefits” and the cost of medical treatments for pre-existing conditions.
Oh, if only someone would have pointed out this likelihood before ObamaCare was passed. Oh yeah, that’s right, numerous Republican and Libertarian politicians stated this exact thing before ObamaCare was voted on. They repeatedly shouted out that employers would drop insurance coverage for employees, that health insurance companies would drop policies, that many people would lose their jobs and that the economy would suffer. But Congress and the Supreme Court did not listen, and now we’re stuck with a law that is going to crush everything in its sights.
Even the liberal media is reporting this latest ObamaCare fiasco, which forced the President to issue an apology of sorts for the problem. Without holding himself or the Democrats responsible, Obama told NBC News, “I am sorry that (Americans) are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me. We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.”
Let me tell you something that I’ve told you before. This type of news does not come as a shock to Obama. This is all part of the grand scheme that will usher in socialized medicine. Once the first painful steps of eliminating employer healthcare coverage and private healthcare plans are taken, people will have no choice but to turn to the government for healthcare. And that’s right where Obama wants them.
