‘Get Ready Day’ Is A Wake-Up Call Many Americans Need

Many of you know that September is National Preparedness Month.

What you may not know is that today, September 19, is “Get Ready Day.”

The American Public Health Association (APHA) helped to establish the day. They encourage Americans to help their communities, campuses, and workplaces. And prepare them for emergencies and disasters.

Being in the preparedness business, we think every day should be Get Ready Day. But it’s nice that the government has designated one month per year for preparation. And that the APHA has targeted a particular day for this topic.

One Tragedy After Another

Recently, many tragic events have occurred across the country and around the world. That said, nobody should need a reminder to prepare for an uncertain future.

Nuclear threats from North Korea. Hurricane Harvey ravaging southeastern Texas. Wildfires in many Western states burning more than 1 million acres of land.

And the mother of all tragedies, Hurricane Irma. It devastated lives and destroyed billions of dollars’ worth of property.

They’ve all contributed to a horrendous past few weeks. Each one of them should be a wake-up call to do what is necessary to protect ourselves and our families.

Why Aren’t Americans Better Prepared?

And those are hardly the only problems Americans have to deal with.

Almost every day we hear about water contaminations in one part of the country or another.

The number of toxins we breathe in – both outside and indoors – seems to increase daily.

Even food is becoming more contaminated. Nearly every day there are new recalls announced.

Yes, it’s definitely a good idea to regularly hold a Get Ready Day. Sadly, millions of Americans are not ready to deal with a wide variety of problems. Especially problems that could turn their lives upside down at the drop of a hat.

‘Getting Ready’ Has Never Been Easier

And the ironic part is, it’s not that difficult to get ready. It doesn’t take much time, effort or money.

We at 4Patriots are not the only folks telling people to prepare for disasters. The American Red Cross and FEMA both recommend every family keep extra water on hand. They suggest at least one gallon of water per person per day for up to two weeks to have during an emergency.

We agree. But storing water can be tricky. It takes up quite a bit of space and is heavy and difficult to transport. And you can only store so much. Even those who have thought ahead might run out of water if an emergency goes on longer than a couple of weeks.

Many people don’t realize there are common survival water mistakes they might be making. For instance, you have to rotate stores of water. And keep it away from heat, light, and dangerous vapors that could penetrate plastic.

It’s definitely a good idea to store some water for your family. But there’s an easy way to ensure your families water needs are covered in a crisis. We recommend also having a water purification system on hand.

The Alexapure Pro is our top recommendation in water filters. It gives you safe, clean water from any fresh water source. This breakthrough device removes up to 99.9999% of contaminants.
