Many domestic changes have occurred in the United States since the election of Barack Obama in 2008 and his re-election in 2012. The healthcare system has been dramatically altered, taxes have gone up, illegal immigrants have been granted amnesty and the people’s will has been overturned in controversial issues.
In each of these cases, the president has known exactly what he was doing. His overriding goal when he took office was to transform the U.S. into a very different country, and he has succeeded. We’ve all suffered as a result of it, but he has succeeded.
But when it comes to his foreign policy actions – or, in most cases, inactions – it’s a very different story. One of the big concerns many people had when Obama was running for president was his lack of experience in foreign affairs. By keeping the focus at home, he has been able to avoid a lot of criticism in this area.
But one look at what is going on in the world should tell you that his inability to deal with other countries and their leaders has cost the U.S. much in the way of prestige and respect. He can’t get Americans out of countries where they’re being held prisoner for no reason, he can’t keep Russia from its bullying and he can’t stop China from its espionage.
As reported by The Blaze, U.S. intelligence agencies are now warning that China has a specialized unit dedicated to launching cyber attacks and that the U.S. is its main target. The U.S. Armed Services Committee has been warned that the Chinese have the ability to launch a massive, Armageddon-like attack against our infrastructure.
So, what is the U.S. doing about it? Well, I’m sure we’re doing plenty behind the scenes to try to make sure this doesn’t happen, and I think it’s fine that the U.S. government is not making all our defensive maneuvers public.
But it’s just another example of how emboldened our enemies have become. Whether it’s Russia or China or even North Korea with all its saber-rattling, they know that with Obama in office they have little to fear.
I just pray that in 2016 this nation will wake up and put somebody in the White House who isn’t afraid to get America back on track and return us to a position of power and respect.
