We’ve all heard our president describe himself as a Christian. Some people accept that declaration at face value, while others have a very difficult time believing it. It’s not for me to say what his true religious beliefs are, but let me ask this. Would a Christian leader do everything in his power to persecute Christians in the military? I don’t think so, but as I’ve reported several times in the past, that appears to be his agenda.
The latest example, as reported recently by Fox News, is that the U.S. Army has labeled the American Family Association (AFA) – a well-respected Christian ministry – as a domestic hate group. Why? Because the group advocates for traditional family values.
U.S. Army active duty and reserve groups were told in a recent briefing at Camp Shelby in Mississippi that the AFA should be classified in the same category as the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazis, the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam. The soldiers were reportedly told that they could face punishment for participating in organizations such as the AFA that are considered hate groups.
American Family Radio talk show host Bryan Fischer calls the Army’s allegations “libelous, slanderous and blatantly false.” He added, “This mischaracterization of AFA is reprehensible and inexcusable. We have many military members who are a part of the AFA network who know these accusations are a tissue of lies.
“If our military wasn’t headed by a commander-in-chief who is hostile to Christian faith, these allegations would be laughed off every military base in the world,” he said.
Earlier this year, Fox News revealed that Army briefings classified evangelical Christians and Catholics as examples of religious extremism.
So, why is our “Christian” president labeling Christian groups as hate groups. It seems pretty obvious to me. His strategy is to separate the military from the American people and plant seeds of doubt about Christians and some of our nation’s most prominent Christian ministries in the minds of our troops.
Do you believe that the White House is out to “get” Christians? What is your opinion regarding why this is happening? I’d love to hear from you about this.
