A Hand Up, Not a Handout
If you love what you do, it doesn’t feel much like work. And if you love who you work with, it doesn’t feel like work at all.
I’ve got family here, so I loved them already (ha!)… but we’ve also got a terrific group of great people at 4Patriots who’ve become my second family.
Hard working. Self-directed. As they used to say, they’re “good eggs”.
And if you’ve ever spoken to someone from 4Patriots on the phone, I hope you’d say they’re awful nice as well.
Each day, we get the privilege of serving so many of you, and helping you stay safe, self-reliant and independent.
Because helping others is ingrained in our mission, and so many of my staff do work in the community already, we got to talking…
My staff suggested we get out in the community to do some extra good work together as a group. So that’s what we did.
Last month, we chose The Little Pantry That Could, here in Nashville. This salt-of-the-earth charity gives those in need a chance to shop for shelf stable food, free of charge.
The head of The Little Pantry really cares about people, and says “This place isn’t about putting food in a bag, not at all. It’s about the connections we can make with folks today.”

Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
You may not have realized it, but you’re doing much more than protecting yourself and your family when you support 4Patriots. You’re making a difference and giving back, every day. And for that, you have the gratitude of me and my staff – and now some truly grateful folks here in Nashville too.
Stay tuned for our next adventure!
God bless,
Frank Bates
P.S. We continually give back to military veterans through our charitable work, and we’ve also added a new charity that retires medical debt for veterans who can’t afford to pay their skyrocketing bills. Because RIP Medical Debt is able to buy debt for pennies on the dollar, our donations will free U.S. military personnel from about $100,000 in debt this year. Thank you!
Everybody here at the Kroger Family does pretty much the same thing as each store in each district partners with a local food pantry or veterans to supply bread and shelf items to those in need. Great Work!

Way to go… We need more folks like you to donate goods and services to help the less fortunate among us. Today we had the “Scouting For Food” drive held annually. All the local Boy Scout troops pick up canned food items that donors leave on their front porches. They take it to the local food banks where it is sorted and distributed to needy people. It is a Very successful event held every year. Thanks BSA.. and God bless good people like ypu everywhere.
